14 Years Ago Today

14 years ago today, I read these words that changed everything:

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'"

Few experiences in my life have been so vivid or powerful as that one. I froze and - literally - could not move a muscle. It seemed like a very long time as I sat there contemplating my eventual doom. And then a feeling of peace washed over me as I realized that Jesus offers a solution - himeslf.

For 14 years I have know Jesus as my friend and lord. And I wouldn't trade him for anything.
