OK, I Must Be an Idiot

For Christmas, I got a battery-powered toothbrush. I like it a lot. My teeth always feel nice after I use it. But here has been my problem - when I put the toothpaste on it, get it wet, and turn it on, toothpaste flies all over the sink. AND THEN, one day last week it dawned on me ...if I wait until I put the toothbrush into my mouth before I turn it on, all the toothpaste is used to fight plaque and to whiten. Alas, I catch on ... not always immediately ... but I catch on.
