I have finally gotten around to A New Kind of Christian by Brian McLaren. McLaren is a leader in the emergent church movement. Additionally, he has been a more vocal member of the anti-war wing of evangelicalism (he would probably hate me for labeling him that way). Anyway, it's a book I've wanted to read for a while. I am a few chapters in now. Nothing earth shattering yet, just a quality description of postmodernism. I do appreciate (and identify with) his candor in describing the disconnect and tensions that exists within those of us pastors who are trying hard to be authentic and vulnerable.
